Creating Jobs

Step 1: Access Job Creation

Navigate to job creation:

  1. Open FieldAx app
  2. Click Jobs tab
  3. Click New button
  4. Job creation form opens

Step 2: Customer Selection

Link job to customer:

Customer Information

  • Customer: Click lookup icon
  • Search and select customer (e.g., ABC Manufacturing)
  • Customer details auto-populate:
    • Billing information
    • Service locations
    • Contract status
    • Service history

New Customer Option

  • Click New if customer doesn’t exist
  • Create customer record first
  • Return to job creation

Step 3: Site and Contact Details

Configure location information:

Site Information

  • Service Location: Select from customer locations
  • Site Address: Auto-populates from selection
  • Can override if different
  • Verify accuracy for routing

  • Primary Contact: John Smith
  • Phone: (555) 123-4567
  • Mobile: (555) 987-6543
  • Best Time to Contact: Morning
  • On-Site Contact: May be different

  • Installed System: Select from customer’s equipment

Step 6: Scheduling Parameters

Set timing requirements:

  • Job End Date and Time: 07/15/2024 11:00 AM
  • Duration: 2 hours (auto-calculated)

Step 7: Priority and Status

Set job importance:

Priority Levels

  • Emergency: 2-hour response
  • High: Same day service
  • Medium: 24-48 hours
  • Low: Scheduled convenience

Initial Status

  • Status: New
  • Changes through workflow
  • Triggers automations
  • Tracks progress

Step 9: Job Description

Document service needs:

Job Description

Example:

“Customer reports AC not cooling properly. 

Unit runs continuously but temperature remains 

at 78°F. Issue started 2 days ago. No unusual 

noises. Filter was recently changed.”
