Understanding Location Types

Inventory locations represent physical places where parts and materials are stored. FieldAx supports multiple location types to match your operational model.

Location Categories

Fixed Locations

Creating Inventory Locations

Step 1: Access Location Management

  1. Open FieldAx Admin app
  2. Navigate to Locations tab
  3. Click New button

Step 2: Create Main Warehouse

Start with your primary location:

Basic Information

  • Location Name: Central Warehouse Chicago
  • Location Code: WH-CHI-001
  • Location Type: Warehouse
  • Status: Active

Address Information

  • Street: 1234 Industrial Parkway
  • City: Chicago
  • State: IL
  • ZIP: 60601
  • Country: United States

Step 3: Configure Location Details

Set operational parameters:

Warehouse Configuration

  • Operating Hours: Mon-Fri 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Saturday Hours: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • 24/7 Access: Emergency only
  • Security Level: Badge + PIN required

  • Location Manager: John Warehouse

Step 4: Storage Configuration

Define storage capabilities:

For mobile inventory:

Standard Trunk Stock Contents

HVAC Trunk Stock:
