Overview #
The Dispatch Board view functionality has been enhanced to provide greater flexibility when displaying jobs.
Previously, when a user selected any Dispatch Board view, the jobs displayed in the view were restricted to the selected Gantt date range.
With the updated functionality, the selected view can display all applicable previously created jobs without being restricted by the Gantt date range.
For users who need the previous date-range-based behavior, the Align with Gantt option can be enabled.
View-Based Job Display #
The Dispatch Board supports multiple views based on different job conditions or requirements.
The updated functionality applies to all configured Dispatch Board views.
When a user selects a view:
- The view displays all jobs that meet the criteria of that particular view.
- Jobs are not restricted to the currently selected Gantt date range by default.
- Previously created jobs can also be displayed, even if their dates fall outside the currently selected Gantt period.
Example #
Assume the Gantt is displaying:
September 21 – September 27
Previously, selecting a Dispatch Board view would display only jobs within this date range.
With the enhanced functionality, selecting the view can display applicable jobs created previously, regardless of whether their dates fall within:
- September 21 – September 27
- Earlier dates
- Other dates outside the selected Gantt range
The actual jobs displayed still depend on the criteria configured for the selected view.
Align with Gantt #
The Align with Gantt checkbox provides an option to use the previous date-range-based behavior.
When Align with Gantt is enabled, the selected Dispatch Board view is aligned with the date range currently displayed in the Gantt.
Behavior #
| Align with Gantt | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Unchecked | Displays all applicable jobs for the selected view without restricting them to the Gantt date range. |
| Checked | Restricts the displayed jobs to the selected Gantt date range, following the previous behavior. |
This functionality applies to all Dispatch Board views.
How to Use #
To View All Applicable Jobs #
- Open the Dispatch Board.
- Select the view.
- Keep Align with Gantt unchecked.
- The selected view will display all applicable jobs without applying the Gantt date-range restriction.
To Use the Previous Date-Range Behavior #
- Open the Dispatch Board.
- Select the required view.
- Select the required date range in the Gantt.
- Enable Align with Gantt.
- The selected view will display jobs according to the selected Gantt date range.
Example #
Suppose the Dispatch Board contains jobs created on:
- September 10
- September 15
- September 20
- September 24
- September 28
The Gantt is currently displaying:
September 21 – September 27
Align with Gantt = Unchecked #
The selected view can display all applicable jobs, including jobs created before September 21 or after September 27, depending on the criteria of that view.
Align with Gantt = Checked #
The selected view displays only the applicable jobs that fall within the selected:
September 21 – September 27
date range.
Important Note #
The Align with Gantt option does not change the criteria of the selected view.
It only determines whether the view results should:
- Ignore the Gantt date range and display all applicable jobs, or
- Follow the Gantt date range and display jobs within the selected period.
The behavior is available across all configured Dispatch Board views.
Summary #
The Dispatch Board now supports two ways of viewing jobs:
Without Align with Gantt
→ View all applicable jobs for the selected view, regardless of the Gantt date range.
With Align with Gantt
→ View applicable jobs only within the selected Gantt date range, providing the previous behavior.
This gives dispatchers the flexibility to either review the complete workload or focus on jobs within a specific scheduling period.
