Overview #
A Work Calendar in FieldAx defines the working schedule for a specific time zone. It is used to configure the working hours for each day of the week and helps FieldAx determine available working periods when scheduling and dispatching jobs.
This document explains how a FieldAx Administrator can create and configure a new Work Calendar.
Prerequisites #
- User must have FieldAx Administrator access.
- The required working hours for each day must be known.
- The appropriate time zone for the calendar must be identified.
Step-by-Step Process #
Step 1: Navigate to Work Calendars #
- Log in to the FieldAx Admin application.
- Navigate to the Work Calendars object.
- The Work Calendars page displays the existing Work Calendar records.
Step 2: Click New #

- From the Work Calendars page, click New.
- The New Work Calendar window opens.
The creation screen contains two main sections:

Step 3: Enter Work Calendar Information #
Under the Information section, configure the following fields:
Owner #
The Owner field identifies the user who owns the Work Calendar.
This field is generally populated automatically with the current user.
Work Calendar Name #
Enter a meaningful name for the calendar.
Example:
IST Second Shift
Use a name that clearly identifies the purpose, location, or working schedule of the calendar.
Detail #
Enter an optional description of the Work Calendar.
For example:
Standard working calendar for the India service team.
This field can be used to provide additional information about the calendar.
Time Zone #
Select the appropriate Time Zone for the Work Calendar.
The time zone should correspond to the region where the calendar will be used.
Example:
India Standard Time (IST)
Important: Select the correct time zone because the configured working hours are interpreted based on this setting.
Step 4: Configure Working Hours #
Under the System Information section, configure the working hours for each day of the week.
Each day has two fields:

- Start – beginning of the working period
- End – end of the working period

The available fields include:

For each day:

- Click the Start dropdown.
- Select the required starting time.
- Click the End dropdown.
- Select the required ending time.
- Repeat the process for all required days.

For example, if the working hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, configure:
Start: 9:00 AM
End: 6:00 PM
Step 5: Review the Configuration #
Before saving the Work Calendar, verify:

- Work Calendar Name is entered.
- Time Zone is selected correctly.
- Working hours are configured for each day.
- Start and End times are correct.
- The working schedule matches the intended business hours.

Because the fields are marked with *, they are required and must be completed before the record can be saved.
Step 6: Create the Work Calendar #
After completing the configuration, click Save.
Alternatively, click Save & New if another Work Calendar needs to be created immediately.
Available Actions #
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Cancel | Discards the current configuration and closes the window. |
| Save & New | Saves the current Work Calendar and opens a new Work Calendar form. |
| Save | Saves and creates the Work Calendar record. |
Verification #
After clicking Save:

- The Work Calendar record is created.
- Return to the Work Calendars list.
- Confirm that the newly created Work Calendar is displayed.
- Open the record and verify the configured:
- Work Calendar Name
- Time Zone
- Daily Start Times
- Daily End Times

The Work Calendar is now available for use within the FieldAx scheduling configuration.
