Day Book — Mobile App Guide

The Day Book in FieldAx Mobile allows service engineers to view their daily assignments and quickly access product details using the built-in scanner.

 

Step 1: Log in to Salesforce Mobile #

1. Open the Salesforce mobile app on your phone.
2. Enter your Salesforce username and password.
3. Enter the verification code sent to your registered mobile number (if prompted).
4. Once logged in, you will land on the Salesforce mobile home screen.

 

Step 2: Open FieldAx Mobile #

1. Tap the Menu icon at the bottom-right corner.
2. Select App Launcher.
3. Scroll through the apps and tap FieldAx Mobile to open it.

 

Step 3: Open the Day Book #

1. In the bottom navigation bar, tap Day Book.
2. You will see:
   • Date selector
   • Scan button
   • Assignment Summary
   • Today’s Assignments list

This screen gives a complete view of your work for the selected date.

 

Step 4: Select a Date #

1. Tap the Date dropdown at the top.
2. Choose the date for which you want to view assignments or scan records.

 

Step 5: Scan a Product #

1. Tap the Scan button.
2. If prompted, allow Camera Permission.
3. Point the camera at the barcode or QR code.
4. Once scanned, the product details will automatically appear.

 

Step 6: View Product & Stock Details #

After scanning, the product page displays:

• Product Code
• Product Name
• Price
• Availability
• Customer Ownership (if applicable)
• Serial Number details (for serialized items)

 

Additional options:

• Tap View Stock Locations to see all inventory locations and available quantities.

 

Tap Scan Another to scan more products.

 

Step 7: Day Book Assignment Flow #

Under Today’s Assignments, you can:

• View all jobs assigned for the selected date
• See job time, status (Pending / Done), and summary
• Tap any job card to open:
  • Job details
  • Customer information
  • Map location
  • Checklist and actions (based on permissions)

 

This helps engineers plan their day efficiently.

 

Troubleshooting #

• Scanner not opening: Ensure camera permission is enabled in your phone settings.
• Scan not reading: Keep the barcode/QR code clean and hold the camera steady.
