How Auto-Dispatch Works #
Identify Job Region #
Determines the job region and matches it with service engineers assigned to that region, so that the correct technician can be assigned to the job.
Filter Technicians by Region & Availability #
Selects service engineers who are assigned to the same region and available for dispatch.
Match Skills #
The job has a Job Type with predefined required skills. Service engineers also have skills assigned. The system matches the Job Type skills with the technician’s skills to ensure the correct technician is selected.
Calculate Travel Time #
When assigning a new job, FieldAx checks the technician’s existing assignments for that day. The system calculates whether there is enough travel time between the previous job’s End Time and the new job’s Start Time. If travel time is sufficient, the technician can be assigned. If not, the system displays an error message on the assignment process page for that job.
Auto-Assign Best Technician #
Based on region match, skill match, and travel-time validation, the system automatically assigns the most suitable service engineer for the job.
